Sep.7 -- Recently, the Intellectual Property Office of UK (IPO) delegation visited the Intellectual Property Office of Shaanxi and conducted various exchange activities.
　
Ju Shuanke, director of the Intellectual Property Office of Shaanxi Province, met with the delegation. At present, Shaanxi is systematically promoting its comprehensive innovation reform, strengthening the protection and utilization of intellectual property (IP), cultivating for a good environment for development and actively engaging into the big picture of the "Belt and Road" developments. In the future, it will continue to strengthen its international communication and cooperation in IP with countries along the "Belt and Road" economic belt - including UK – and other related countries around the world. Ju Shuanke said that the visit of the IPO bore significant meaning for promoting bilateral exchanges between Shaanxi and UK, helping the innovative subjects in Shaanxi to learn the IP systems in UK and Europe and enhancing the abilities of IP oversea layout and intellectual property rights (IPR) protection.
　
Head of China Policy at the IPO introduced the general situation of the IPO, the important role it played in the European IP system and the major works needed to be done for Chinese innovative subjects applying for IPR in UK. She highly praised the achievement China and Shaanxi had achieved in the IP field in recent years. The two sides later exchanged views on conducting communication and cooperation.

In Xi'an, the Intellectual Property Office of Shaanxi and the IPO cohosted a symposium on the IP system in UK. More than 80 representatives from enterprises, colleges and universities, scientific and research institutions and IP service institutions attended the symposium. Experts from the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (CIPA), the Institute of Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA) and British Embassy Beijing gave introductions on the IP systems in UK and Europe, the protection of IPR and litigation of IPR cases, the application and cases of trademark application and practices of IP management. They also answered questions from the representatives. During the symposium, the CIPA and the ITMA published guidelines on supporting Shaanxi enterprises to protect their IPR overseas and to realize technical transformation.
