Guangdong: IP Center for Leather Set to Cut Application Times

Approved by the State Intellectual Property Office, China's first IP rights rapid processing center for the leatherware industry was established in Guangzhou's Huadu district. The center will grant design patents to local leatherware makers within 30 working days after an application is filed. Before, the process usually took half a year. The process to investigate a design infringement is also expected to be cut from half a year to a month. Shiling township in the district is home to 8,800 leather companies with more than 300,000 employees.
