Shanghai: Manufacturers and Retailer Ordered to Stop Infringement

Two facial care machine makers in Hong Kong and Shanghai and a retailer in Hangzhou, all with a common shareholder, were ordered to stop their infringement on a patent owned by L'Oreal for a facial cleansing brush, according to a recent ruling by the Shanghai No 1 Intermediate People's Court. They must also pay compensation of 1 million yuan ($161,080) as well as 230,000 yuan in court costs. L'Oreal acquired the patent from Pacific Biosciences in 2013.
