A graduate of Chongqing University of Science and Technology recently earned 2 million yuan ($322,222) by auctioning his patented 3D polisher, designed to smooth three-dimensional products. Liu Hongwei began work on the polisher in 2013 when he was a senior student, and developed a prototype within three months. After further improvements, Liu said the machine could finish a polishing task in minutes, and he hoped it could help China reduce its dependence on imported polishers.
