Experts at a forum on the IT industry and technical standards that opened in Taipei on Friday said industries across the Taiwan Straits need to cooperate on intellectual property and formulate common industrial standards amid challenges posed by the uncertain global economy. The meeting called for more cooperation and exchanges in 5G technologies. The mainland and Taiwan will expand collaboration into such sectors as payment using smartphones and digital medical services, said leaders at the forum.
