The State Intellectual Property Office is working on legislation to govern patent protection in e-commerce, said Lei Xiaoyun, deputy director of SIPO's patent administration department, at a press conference last week. "We are doing a lot of theoretical and practical studies to strengthen the environment and capacity of online patent protection," Lei said. This year SIPO carried out a special campaign to fight infringements in the sector and handled more than 2,700 related cases.
