The First Intermediate Court last week began hearing a case filed by Radio Beijing Corp against the Trademark Appeal Board of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce over the right to use one of its frequencies as a trademark. In 2005, a local company registered "1039" as a trademark for fuel additives. FM 103.9 is the frequency of Beijing Traffic Radio. The broadcaster initially raised objections with the appeal board in June but its appeal was rejected.
