The State Intellectual Property Office of China has given its approval for the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone and the Zhangjiagang Economical Development Zone in Jiangsu province to become IPR experimental industrial parks, local media reported. The State Intellectual Property Office approved a total of four parks: two in Zhangjiagang, one in Kunshan, and one in Dongying, Shandong province.
The Zhangjiagang Science and Technology Bureau is focusing on IPR issues this year and has made some achievements in the area. So far this year, it has received 8,300 IPR applications and granted 285 patents.
A bureau official said they will make detailed plans on how IPR will be safeguarded in the experimental parks to guarantee that more hi-tech companies will have their own effective IPR protection methods.
