Xinjiang IP Pilot Park Gets Official Go-ahead

 

The Urumqi State High-tech Industrial Zone, a pilot project as Xinjiang region's first State intellectual property (IP) park, which was established in 2008, had received State Intellectual Property Office approval, according to the autonomous region's intellectual property office.

The zone has five State IP pilot enterprises, 12 regional IP pilot enterprises, and 30 municipal IP pilot enterprises and the deputy head of the zone, Hu Qizhi, said that they had helped these enterprises with financing and that the pilot zone has had some achievements. So far, the patent application is up 75.9 percent since 2008 and patents obtained, up 65.3 percent. Last year, the high-tech zone had the largest number of patent applications of all counties at the municipal level, with 890. In addition, the zone has won the "Advanced State Intellectual Property Pilot Zone" award.
