Beijing

According to SIPO, the 2012 national patent agent qualification examination was held as scheduled at 20 sites from Nov. 3 to Nov. 4. The number of examinees in this year is the largest ever, up 22% than last year.

Liaoning

According to a conference concerning S&T innovation held in Liaoning province, the province will further implement IP strategy. In the next five years, the province is expected to maintain 20% annual growth rate in invention patent applications and granted, the number of invention patents owned per 10 thousand heads aims to rise to 6.7.

Shandong

As of now, inspection and rectification of use of licensed software among Shandong party and government bodies at provincial, municipal and county level has been fully completed. The whole province has spent 68,390,000 yuan in installing 85,100 sets of legitimate software.

Guangdong

The 112th China Import and Export Fair closed in Guangzhou recently. According to the report, IP infringement in this fair reduced by 10%, with bigger drops in trademark and copyright cases.

Guangxi

The First Guangxi inventions Exhibition and Trade Fair opened in Nanning, Guangxi. The fair showed the innovational results of 14 ten-billion industry sectors and 10 strategic emerging industry sectors such as new material, new energy. Meanwhile, some patented technology products and invention created by students from primary and secondary school were also on display.

Hangzhou

At the 43th AIPPI international meeting, the city of Hangzhou, China was elected from the 6 candidate cities to host the 2020 AIPPI international meeting. It is the first time for China to host such meeting.
