Recently, the First Guangxi Invention and Creation Trade Fair, with a theme of "promoting invention and creation, accelerating industrial upgrade," opened in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The bi-annual fair, the first of the country, is an important measure taken by the government and Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to invigorate inventions and innovations. The fair features large area of exhibition, large number of displayed products and colorful activities. The fair exhibited innovative products from the region's 14 industries with an output value of more than 100 billion yuan each, including food, automobile, petrochemicals and electricity, as well as 10 strategic emerging industries such as new materials, new energy and energy conservation and environment protection. On the display there were also many patented products with promising market prospects and great consumer market potential, as well as inventions and innovations by primary and middle school students.
