Anhui: 'Cooked' Kitchen Appliances

A court in Huainan city recently fined three men and sentenced them to two to five years in prison for selling kitchen appliances with counterfeit trademarks.

The court found that from 2009 to 2011 the defendants bought vent fans and stoves with no trademarks from Zhejiang Shengzhou industrial park and branded them with counterfeited famous trademarks such as Aucma and Huatai. They then sold the items across the province.

They generated about 520,000 yuan in illicit sales, according to court testimony.
