Local police have arrested Zhang Zhixiong, a distributor for the Supaq electric bike company based in Jiangsu province, for violating the company's trademark rights by making and selling copycat bikes.

Police said Zhang hired a bike manufacturer in Yulin city to make electric bikes carrying the trademark of Supaq without authorization, and then sold them at 11 stores in Nanning.

According to authorities, the illegal business made more than 13,000 fake branded bikes worth nearly 34.4 million yuan, including 234 that were seized when police raided Zhang's warehouse.
