Five hundred locomotives made by Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co have recently been put into service.

The 9,600 kW locomotives have the world's highest single-unit power output and can run at 120 km an hour while hauling 5,000 ton loads.

The home-developed locomotive has five national invention patents and 15 utility model patents.
