An Iraqi businessman was recently deported and fined 150,000 yuan ($23,135) by the Qingdao Intermediate People's Court for infringing on auto trademarks.
The court found that Aamer Salih illegally used Toyota, Nissan and Mazda trademarks on brake assemblies he commissioned a Shandong company to produce in 2010.
The case began when Qingdao's Huangdao Customs seized 12,640 brake units with a potential value of 206,400 yuan intended for export to Libya.
