Authorities in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region have concluded a survey of IP at more than 1,000 companies as part of a campaign to assist "zero patent" high-tech firms.

The effort is designed to improve IP management and raise competitiveness, a science and technology administrator in the autonomous region said on Jan 7.

Policies to encourage patent applications in Xinjiang have also been adopted.
