A rural doctor in Xiangxiang city recently received an invention patent for improving on a "secret formula" to treat skin ailments.

Li Ting said she also plans to apply for a trademark on the ointment that contains Chinese herbal medicines, which was developed over five years of research and trials.

"I hope it can be mass produced immediately if possible," she said.
