An inauguration ceremony for the opening of a national intellectual property (IP) research center was held on Nov 29 at Tongji University.

SIPO Deputy Director He Hua said at the ceremony that the growing number of challenges in IP urgently requires SIPO to strengthen its research and professional capabilities.

He added that the university should integrate IP research and intensify the study of international developments to help implement the national IP strategy.

SIPO has also founded research centers in Wuhan and Beijing.
