A Chinese rose now can blossom outdoors in winter, even in northeastern China's frigid weather. Cold-resistant varieties with intellectual property rights have been jointly bred by Northeast Agricultural University and the province's academy of sciences.

The roses are also long blooming with large flowers and bright colors. They will be used for the province's landscaping in winter.
