Guangdong: Three Arrested, Servers Seized for Counterfeit Microsoft Sales

In the city's first online IP infringement case, Zhaoqing police arrested three suspects for selling pirated Microsoft software over the Internet, and seized 21 desktop and 12 server computers.

Local police investigated 20 IP violations as part of a nationwide campaign that began in October last year, uncovering 31 illegal production sites and detaining a total of 76 suspects.

Counterfeits with a potential total value of more than 42 million yuan were seized, including products that carried the labels of famed international brands LV, Honda, Toyota and Nissan.
