Shanghai: Calls for Marketplace to Trade in Intellectual Property

China's State Intellectual Property Office Commissioner Tian Lipu called for an efficient IP trading market during the Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum on Nov 22.

Tian said IP is "a strategic resource and core element for countries and regions competing in the global market, and a key force that boosts innovation, economic development and social advancement".

The one-day forum attracted more than 500 delegates from government organizations, research institutes, high-tech companies, IP service agencies and industry associations to exchange ideas on developing an IP marketplace.
