Walt Disney Co's redesign of the leading Chinese cartoon Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf has resulted in "brighter colors that fit the aesthetic appreciation of foreigners better", said industry experts.

Disney received authorization on the cartoon's copyright in January, according to its producer Guangzhou Creative Power Entertaining (CPE).

The famed US animation company also signed a worldwide licensing agreement for derivative products. The new images can be now used on toys, electronic goods, house decorations, stationery, food and publications.

A spokesman at Disney's Shanghai branch said the Chinese market is a top priority and cooperation with CPE is part of its strategy of local cooperation in global expansion.
