Water treatment equipment manufacturer Xylem unveiled its own logo in Beijing on Nov 4 after it was spun off from US-based International Telephone and Telegraph Corp (ITT) at the end of last month.

The new company inherited all of ITT's former water treatment and transportation brands.

The Greek word xylem refers to tissue that transports water in plants.

One of the company's pilot products is a pump that allows large objects in a pipeline to pass through, according to Bob Wolpert, president of Xylem China and India.
