Police in Fujian, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces began joint operations codenamed Shark Hunt Nine early this month against counterfeited car parts.

They found more than 1.3 million faked labels for global auto brands such as Volkswagen, Hyundai and Honda, and more than 2.5 million counterfeited car parts.

The products had a combined potential retail value of more than 73 million yuan. More than 100 illegal operations were uncovered and 200 suspects detained.

In Fujian province alone, police from six cities cracked down on 48 operations and detained 134 supects.
