Yunnan: Increased Funding to Boost Dali Brands

The Dali Administration for Industry and Commerce recently announced that it plans to spend 9.2 million yuan over five years to support local companies with registered trademarks. Companies whose trademark applications have been accepted by the State Trademark Bureau are also eligible.

The move aims to encourage local entrepreneurs in accelerating their transition from simply making products to overall brand management, authorities said.

The main targets of the program are companies involved in bio-pharmaceuticals, tea processing, daily products and tourism.

The city is expected to have three national well-known trademarks and 39 famous provincial trademarks by the end of 2015, according to local officials.
