A proprietary robot used for room decorating and installation of glass will soon roll out of the lab at Hebei University of Technology and onto the market, according to its developer Hebei Construction Group Co Ltd.

The robot "can work as efficiently as 20 men" and is a model of eco-friendliness and energy efficiency, said An Zhanfa, chief engineer at the company.

Work on the robot, co-developed by the company and the university in Tianjin, began in 2009.
