Several hundred red porcelain products were patented for their designs this year in the city of Yixing, known as the pottery capital of China, according to a report from a porcelain design exposition in the city.
Hosts of the expo were the provincial arts and crafts institute and the provincial intellectual property rights protection society. They gave 40 First Prizes and 60 Second Prizes to designers of some newly patented red porcelain work.
The purpose of the event was to encourage innovation of among porcelain designers and manufacturers.
