The Guangdong Creative Power Entertaining Co Ltd (CPE) has sued a Shanghai eyeglass company for the illegal use of an animated character.

CPE found in January that the eyeglass manufacturer put an image of Lance the Lazy Goat on its glass frames for children. Unfortunately, that particular goat is a popular character in an animation series called Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, which CPE produces.

The Minxing district court found that the eyeglass company, in using the goat image, had infringed on CPE's rights and would have to pay 80,000 yuan in compensation.
