Jilin: Too Free with the Music

Police in the city of Yanji recently closed down two websites that provided South Korean music, MTV, and other video products without authorization.

The local culture and press authorities received a complaint from the Music Copyright Society of China in late July, saying the Yanji-based websites - www.imdj.net and o2sky.com - were providing Korean music downloads for free.

Officers shut down the o2sky.com servers and its representative, surnamed Piao, was sentenced to three years with probation. The operator of www.imdj.net is still at large.
