Hebei: Gang Busted for Fake Chinese Liquor

Police in the provincial capital Shijiazhuang recently broke up a gang producing and selling fake branded Chinese liquors with a potential retail value of 300,000 yuan. Two suspects were arrested.

In mid-August, local police received information on an underground alcohol factory and found the hideout several days later.

The factory had fake packaging for famed liquors including Moutai, Wuliangye and Jiannanchun, processing machines and full bottles ready for sale.

The suspects confessed they bought cheap alcohol and "transformed" it through blending, then bottled it and with labels of the nationally known liquors.
