Beijing: Early Warning for Possible Infringement

The Beijing Intellectual Property Office recently released information on an early-warning system for overseas intellectual property (IP) disputes, to help the city and companies with international strategies.

Wang Hong, director of the office, said an increasing number of patent conflicts are arising as more Chinese companies move into the global market.

The conflicts not only affect individual companies but also the entire industry, so it is important to analyze patent information and potential risks before exporting products, he said.

The early warning process has four procedures with legal analysis on possible infringement at the core, he noted.
