Gansu Province has recorded improvements in IP protection, service capacities and levels since the release of Outlines of Intellectual Property Strategy of Gansu Province in 2010. The patent applications and grants reached 3,558 and 1,868 respectively, an increase of 33% and 46.6% year on year, higher than the national average of 26.4%. The patent applications in the province exceeded 2,000 in 2008 and jumped to over 3,000 this year.
