The Shanghai Municipal Government recently released Several Opinions on Promoting the Development of Digital Publishing Industry (Opinions), emphasizing efforts to intensify IP protection. According to the Opinions, special actions will be taken to crack down on piracy in the digital network areas. The Opinions expressly encouraged R&D of common technologies to protect digital copyright, aimed to explore proper insurance against IP infringement to suit the characteristics and needs of digital publishing enterprises and give aid to eligible digital publishing enterprises in their applications for registration of computer software.
