Shenzhen customs have seized more than 17 million counterfeited products in the first five months of this year.
The most common fakes were electronic products, clothes, cigarettes and cosmetics. Many of the items were labeled as well-known brands including Dior, Nike, Nokia, Hermes and iPhone.
Shenzhen customs officials said Chinese companies should make more effort to protect intellectual property and improve the reputation of local products. They also suggested that global cooperation is needed to fight international infringement.
