Beijing: Latest List of Intangible Heritage

 

The State Council announced a new list of the nation's intangible cultural heritage to mark Cultural Heritage Day on June 11.

The more than 190 items on the list cover a wide range of fields from traditional music, dance, opera, art, craftsmanship and medicine to customs, folklore, the traditional Tibetan calendar, medical treatment by the Dai ethnic group and an ancient exercise that imitates the tiger, bear, deer, ape and crane.

It was the nation's third batch of cultural heritage selections, bringing the total to 1,219 listed items.
