Shenzhen Issues Nation's First White Paper on Copyright Industry

 

Shenzhen released China's first white paper entitled Copyright Industry Development in Shenzhen on May 13. According to the document, the copyright industry in Shenzhen accounts for 15.39% of the city's GDP, surpassing the percentage of 11.2% in America and is now ranking the top place in China.


According to the white paper, China's new media industry develops rapidly in recent years. Size of internet industry in 2009 was about 22.5 billion yuan and this number is expected to hit 80 billion yuan in 2012. With more than 100,000 employees in fields of industrial design, graphic design and interior design, the city's creative design industry is now taking the lead in the country's industry. Copyright industry such as culture industry, internet and creative design are now the pillar and strategic industries in Shenzhen and plays an important role in the city's industrial structure.
