IPR Complaints Down 10% at Canton Fair

The 109th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) concluded on May 4. According to the event Complaint Reception Center, it had received 616 complaints alleging 465 companies, down 12.5% and 14.5% respectively compared with the previous one.

The event comes amid a special campaign against IPR infringement and counterfeiting goods. In a bid to strengthen IPR protection for the event, the Canton Fair put more efforts into quality inspection in an all around way. The quality inspection team was established within each trading delegation, which prevents counterfeiting goods or IPR infringements from very beginning. The Ministry of Commerce jointly held a China-Japan symposium on IPR protection on the Fair with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry recently.
