Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) joined hands with Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, National Copyright Administration, Supreme People's Procuratorate and other relevant ministries and organizations in Guangzhou held the National Foreign-invested Enterprises IPR Protection Forum. More than 100 representatives from the Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment and part of the world's top 500 enterprises participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, person in charge of the Protection and Coordination Department of SIPO, on behalf of the National IP Strategy Implementation Working Inter-Ministerial Joint Meeting Office, gave a brief introduction on our IPR protection work since 2009 and the overall outlook and priorities of the work of 2010 in light of 2010 China's IPR Protection Action Plan . People in charge from relevant ministries introduced the latest developments from their own departments in IPR protection in the light of the working reality. Representatives of foreign business fully affirmed Chinese government's effort and achievement in IPR protection. They gave feedbacks on some problems they encountered in terms of IPR protection and provided with some constructive suggestions and proposals in problem shooting.
This meeting was the third forum held with foreign institutions since the implementation of national IPR strategy. It was also a useful attempt for intellectual property-related sectors to deepen their communication with IPR owners.
