The first trading exchange for international intellectual property has begun operation in Bianhai.
"Founding the bourse marks a crucial move by Tianjin to build an international intellectual property trade service system," said Wu Ningyan, an official of the State Intellectual Property Office.
The exchange will help accelerate commercialization of technology research and improve proprietary innovation, Wu noted.
The platform is expected to attract more capital and technologies to the city and spur growth in the local economy, said Huang Zhengxue, an associate researcher at the National Development and Reform Commission.
The exchange is designed to explore new ways for technological financing and transactions in intellectual property, said Cui Jindu, vice-mayor of the city, adding tit is expected to become a national demonstration site for technological financing.
