Fuzhou Approved as National Innovation Pilot City

 

On May 12th, Fuzhou was approved by the National Ministry of Science and Technology to become the second National Innovation Pilot City in Fujian province.

An “Innovation-oriented City” is a city with strong abilites for independent innovation, high-level sustainable development powered by scientific and technological progress, and great impetus to promote the economic development of adjacent regions.

Since 2007, Fuzhou has ranked first in the number of patent applications in Fujian province. In recent years, Fuzhou has won the title of “National Scientific and Technological Progress Advanced City” for eight consecutive years.

In addition, Fuzhou has also been listed as a “National Intellectual Property Model City,” and among the National "Ten Cities, Million Lamps" Semiconductor Lightening Project Pilot City, etc. With its significant achievements in science and technology, Fuzhou has become one of the top fifty most innovative cities in China.
