Tibet: IP Filings Grow, Yet Few are Commercialized

To popularize intellectual property knowledge, members of a Tibet IP protection group and companies have co-organized publicity efforts along the main streets in Lhasa, capital of the autonomous region.

Since 2002, patent applications from Tibet have continued to grow, with the number reaching 350 in 2008. Yet few invention patents have been commercialized.

Local authorities began a patent value assessment effort in 2008 to provide a boost to patent commercialization.
