The Fuzhou olive was approved as a collective trademark with geographic indication (GI) in late March, the first in the olive industry in China and fourth GI trademark in Fuzhou, capital of the province.
The trademark is valid for 10 years.
The city's olive trees cover 8,000 hectares and account for more than half of the provincial total. The eastern coastal province tops of the nation in olive production.
