The provincial intellectual property administration recently announced it will begin accepting applications to disburse compensation for overseas legal fees spent in defending intellectual property rights.

Local companies that won intellectual property cases or reached a compromise last year are eligible for the government-sponsored fund.

A provincial aid center will evaluate the claims based on recommendations from local intellectual property offices and then award compensation for those approved.

This year, 3 million yuan is earmarked for the fund.
