Heilongjiang: Efforts to Boost Province's Patent Applications

The intellectual property administration of the northeastern province plans a series of projects to ensure the province's patent applications exceed 10,000 this year.

Among the efforts is a hotline to aid protection of intellectual property rights, as well as volunteers to promote intellectual property awareness, investment in patented technologies, a patent trade market, information system and provincial assistance center.

Development of patent agencies and expanded patent-collateral financing are also on the agenda of the Heilongjiang government.

The frontier province trails more developed provinces in patent applications, ranking 19th in the nation last year.
