Hangzhou customs officers on Sept 22 seized products suspected of infringing on trademark rights relating to the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
The infringing products were seized by the Jinhua branch of Hangzhou customs offices. The officials noticed the destination for the goods was the Congo, which is close to South Africa, and inspected the outbound goods.
They saw footballs, sunglasses and other products they deemed suspicious. For example, customs officers seized 39 boxes of slippers imprinted with the words "South Africa 2010" and "FIFA 2010."
