Zhengzhou: IPR and Big Projects

Henan officials announced that any use of government funds for projects valued at more than 50 million yuan must undergo an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) evaluation.

The regulations require that project operators present IPR evaluation report to city IPR administration office before establishing any major business project involving IPR.

The items subject to evaluation include information about IPR documents in both China and overseas on topics such as IP categories, quantities, legal status and remaining time of protection.

Also required are risk analyses of possible conflicts of interest, IPR ownership papers and protective measures taken for research and development.
