The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) in August awarded 10 original children's cartoons and 10 cartoon producers a total of 8.9 million yuan as part of the effort to support original Chinese animation.

The program supporting the creation and production of children's radio and television works, including homegrown cartoons, was established in partnership between SARFT and the Ministry of Finance.

The awards followed preliminary reviews by provincial administrators of the cartoons.
