A growing focus on regional IPR enforcement efforts was the focus of the Summing-up Meeting for the Guangdong Regional IPR Development Plan held Aug 14 in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.
Tao Kaiyuan, director of the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Office, stressed the importance of developing regional IPR plans.
Tao said the three requirements for improving regional IPR enforcement are: elevating a stronger understanding of IPR issues, improving enforcement infrastructures and standardizing the use of capital.
Zheng Liangsheng, vice director of Guangdong province's IP office, praised the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shantou, Zhongshan and Dongguan for what he called their outstanding efforts to enforce intellectual property rights.
At the meeting, Zheng signed agreements with representatives of all cities in Guangdong province as part of the Year 2009 Guangdong Regional IPR Development Plan.
