IPRs in Big Business Projects to Be Reviewed in Weifang

 

Government in Weifang, Shandong released a circular requiring all manufacturing projects using government money or having significant impact on economic and social development, shall go through an IPR review procedure. 

Under the circular, project operator shall present an IPR evaluation report to the city IPR administration before establishing any important business project involving IPRs.  The city IPR administration shall verify the evaluation report and invite experts in the relevant fields to reevaluate.  The items subject to evaluate include: information of the IPRs in both China and overseas, such as right category, ownership, quantity, legal status, assignment and licensing, and remaining time of protection; analysis of the legality of ownership and certainty of preexisting right; possibility and ownership of IPRs acquired from the project; risk analysis of possible conflict of interests between IPRs in the project and others' IPRs.
