As of April 7, Shaanxi's patent technology trade has achieved favorable fruits at the 13th Investment & Trade Forum for Cooperation between East & West China. At the forum, more than 100 high-level technologies were traded, and total deal volume reached over 100 million yuan. The Patent Technology Trade Hall was first set up at the forum to help 600 science and technology (S&T) fruits explore the market. Shaanxi province contains more than 1,000 scientific institutions of various fields, possesses 1.1 million technical personnel, and has 126 colleges and universities. In the 2008 national S&T fruits list, 37 projects had been developed or taken part in by institutions of Shaanxi.
